Sam, you beat me to it...lol...so the one labeled "Long Lake" has good fishing? The other lake up by that "Big Rock" has no name, as I can see, but I bet they both have fish in them...have you fished "Long Lake" for trout in the past?
I was talking about the one near the big rock. I've done good there. It's a much bigger and deeper lake. It would also have colder water. If I remember right it was surrounded by hills and trees moreso then the other little small one that is really shallow and is right near the park.
I see. So you have been back there?! Wow. Then I hold hope for getting back there and doing some fishing. That smaller lake that is closer to the park is called "Long Lake" - have you tried fishing that area at all? I would think if it's shallower then it would warm quicker and thus be better to fishing right now...that larger lake is colder and may take longer to warm thus rendering it more or less ineffective right now for fishing. Nonetheless, they both offer some exciting possibilies...just gotta bushwack back in there with the good old raft.

This map shows that larger lake real well, as well as the smaller "Long Lake" -- You just don't hear anything about Long Lake or that deeper lake down by the Rock...I wonder why?!

Looks like iPodrodder has submitted a little report for "Long Lake" connected to Beaver Lake - Check it out:

http://www.fishingworks.com/lakes/washi ... long-lake/

Since it is shallower I bet it is better to fish right now. I think that's where we'll start. They call it "Beaver Lake Park Pond" aka "Long Lake" and it is shallower so it should be WARMER than the other two lakes making it better for trout fishing right now. It might be prime time!

This shows it very nicely - the larger of the two smaller lakes if we can get back thru there - which I think we can - it is much deeper and is connected to Beaver Lake which means it gets less pressure, as not a lot of people venture back there, and the fish can swim back into that lake. Sounds like we'll hit this one just first and go from there:

http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=47. ... &layer=DRG

(it has no name, but let's call it "Deep Beaver Lake" and the other one will remain as "Long Lake."

Roger that. We'll try and get back into that larger lake and fish worms. Also bring along lures like flatfish and needlers if you have any. Should be an interesting outing.

I've been back to both. Try them both out. Plan a full day and you should be able to make it to all three lakes in about 4 hours worth of fishing. The small lake called "Long Lake" is shallow and thus should heat up faster. The bigger and deeper lake is the one I've done well on.

Both of these lakes your going to need someone up front looking out for stumps and pushing trees outta the way. It gets shallow in both canals and you gotta be good on the motor if you are gonna keep your prop....

That's what I got the fishingmachine for! haha, thanks Sam, we'll take it into account and give both lakes a good, fair shot.

we have a topo map for the main and the second largest lake:

http://www.washingtonlakes.com/TopoMaps ... 20King.gif

50ft deep at "beaver 1".

I've gone thru the channel with my pontoon. Also, the Beaver lake video has footage of the second lake and a bit of a zoom of the channel (it was take from the shore) at 3:17 into the video. BTW, the video was taken almost one year ago, March 9, 2007.

Sweet. I'll have to check the video out! Thanks. I just picked up the new issue of the Fishing and Hunting News Magazine for Washington and it nails the cutt fishery perfectly! I'm glad to see a full out explanation of this fishery. I would highly recommend those of you that are interested in this fishery to pick up a copy as soon as possible.

Read my post on the Fishing and Hunting Magazine. I think we should fish Lake Washington...it's only going to get better in the days to come and I'm game to put in my time. I think I am going to fish there tomorrow and again on Saturday and Sunday (Cedar River these days), and the north tip of Mercer other days.

We're going to fish Washington exclusively. I'll be there on Saturday and Sunday. Since a SW wind of 10-20 is forecasted I'll fish in the south end of the lake by the Cedar where protection is granted from southerlies. Juanita Beach is the worst (for southwesterlies). Are you game to go one of those days, if not both? If anyone else wants to go let me know via PM. This fishery is only going to get better as time wears on.
