Area 10... Beach/rock wall along Discovery Park??

I really want to know if anyone on here fishes the area of beach/property line along Discovery Park, Seattle, area 10?
Wow!! I went with my family for a hike in the park.. Of course the real reason was to scout the beach out, since I like to fish searun cutts. resident silvers from the beach. When I got down there I was REALLY blow away with what I saw. There is a huge portion of boulder rock barrier that is totally accesible from shore. Grant it you are positioning yourself on the those large jetty type rocks,, so do so at your own risk. But at high tide it looked like Rock cod/Cabezon/Ling cod--- in season of course--- ( not to mention that landing a nice size fish could be a challenge,, but I will plan on bringing some braided line)
Then if you continues South there is regular beach and a nice sharp point in the land, could for that in/out tide change bait fish thing.
I wish more people on this site did beach fishing for cutts./resident silvers. I enjoy this a lot.

Let me know if anyone at least fishes this rock wall from a boat. As soon as I get my trailer hitch on the new Outback, this is where I'm going.:cheers:

When Lingcod/Rockfish/Cabezon season is open for retention...You can't fish for them right now.

I usually make these distinctions:

a) When the season is closed, I don't target them. E.g., when sockeye season is closed on LK WA, I don't troll bare red hooks. Or when ling season is closed, I don't fish using big live greenling for bait. Or when salmon season is closed, on a river, I do not fish the river (in the Puyallup, lots of people fish or is it "poach?" during the closed salmon season, saying that they are doing CNR or that they are "targeting summer steelhead")

b) When the season is open, but CNR is required, then I may target them. Like searun cutts--the season is open year round, but CNR is required.

Not sure of the preferences of the WDFW enforcement agents...

In my experiece the SRC's are best in the late spring/summer. Also, the resident silvers were outa control last spring like March off of the Carkeek park area. There were many days when I would see 3 rish in the air at one time.
But I know guys on the washingtonstate fly fishing forum who still are catching cutts. Those fish are heavily targeted by the fly guys. It's a great forum to take info. from. I mean, even if you don't fly fish.

How big were those resident silvers running, Quad? 12-16 inches? Larger?
