I would go up to British Columbia and try to fish as many of the Steelhead and Salmon rivers as I could. I would focus my efforts on the the many famous rivers that kick out higher than average numbers of 20 lb. + steelhead. The biggest steelhead that I have landed is an 18 lb'er and I have lost one that went at least 25 lbs, so I would be looking for one last chance at a trophy steelhead over 20 lbs.

Fly fishing in New Zealand. Then if I had any time left, I would jump up to Scotland and fish the rivers and streams there.

All those places sound great, but the Peacock bass photo was over the top! I'm in for a trip down there.

Lotech Joe wrote:I'd be happy going to Hebgen Lake. I was there with my dad when I was a kid. That was about 55 years ago, before the earthquake that changed the shape of the lake. I believe my dad and uncle Don Rush were the first people to fish that lake with leaded line.
Lotech: You need to go back there. That is my old stomping grounds. The river section between Hebgen and Quake is insano fishing. Fish it in the spring before runoff, You will never have so many fish snap your line or land so many big rainbow and brown's anywhere. Oh yeah go mid week and have that section to yourself.

All of your guys ideas are great. You probably listed the top 10 fishing places in the entire world and I learned some new and interesting stuff about fishing spots all over the world. But........ I think I will have to go w/ a more simple approach and i will tell you why. I would pick my favorite lake in WA to fish last. I mean, I already have the lake all figured out and know what I am doing, it would suck to die fish less and frustrated at a lake you have never fished before LOL

Peacock bass for sure!!! But I like the amenities of Costa Rica more then the Amazon. But the Amazon would be a tight second.
By the way, gpc, if my guide sucks on the last day. I'll take him on a shark fishing trip that night[-x

I would take a case of dynamite and head down to the sound... probably a lot of cool things would float to the top.

Dez got it right! If you're gonna croak - fishing would be only a PART of the thing on my mind, and you aren't gonna find these women in the Amazon or the Midwest. :compress: :compress: :compress:
