1st Iamfishing, I am sorry, I cannot give you a real answer but I am sure somebody can/will.

But the mention of China Lake is a blast from the past in this here forum... never been there, have no idea where it is even, but I've heard there are carp in it...:geek:

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

i did a little research, online couldn't find anything so i talked to a few people i met around the lake, from what i was told, water from the freeway drains into the lake...so i am pretty sure since it is water from the freeway that is draining into the lake.the water has to be polluted so that must be why the fish are gone...sad.either that or it is just fished out.either way sad...i was kind of hoping to find a small creek so i could dig a small channel to feed the lake some good fresh water, but there is nothing of the sort around....

Foaming at the mouth:bom:

Well this is a real place, its located next to highway 16 and in the area of Allenmore Hosp.
Looking at it on bing maps,it states it as a park but it looks like its surrounded by private property
with the exception of a little parking lot on the south end, followed by dirt trails to dump "items"
It looks like it gets plenty of runoff from the highway, which might produce some intersting
species
