Will be heading out to Potholes Saturday. I am stuck on shore for fishing. Can anyone recommend places to fish for walleye, bass, perch, trout in the vicinity. Pretty much any fish.
Here is what I know of so far from reading forums, I90 bridge that goes over Moses Lake for Perch and Soda lake(although not sure where to fish here). Looking at a map there are many others lakes just south of Potholes. Which of them carry fish and are in season to fish? Thanks.

RE:Potholes/Moses Lake area shore fishing
There is a ton of shore access around the potholes. O'ssulivan (sp?) dam is a good place to shore fish. But you almost have to park at the resort to fish it. Mar Don dock is a good place to fish w/o a boat. There is also tons of fishing spots in Lind Coulee and Medicare beach. All of these locations on on the Reservoir.
All the small lakes are also good fishing. Just about every lake that has a name you can catch a fish. A couple are closed to fishing (Marsh unit 1,2,3 to name a few) and some are private. The only lake that is seasonal is Warden, and it dosnt open until the end of the month. There is also a handful of april 1st openers.
Stop by at Mar Don Resort, there you can get a map of the lakes and they will be able to help you pick what lakes/areas are best to fish if shore bound. Oh yeah a lot of those smaller lakes have multi species of fish, but some only have species or another. Its not fun bass fishing for 1/2 a day in a trout only lake, the map also shows which species are in whitch lake

I read about Lind Coulee, where exactly is that located at. Also where is Medicare beach located at.
Read a little about the canal from Potholes to Soda Lake, how is the fishing there and what fish can you catch?

Like GPC said - stop at the little store at Mardon. They sell a laminated map for $1.99 (bought one last week) that shows potholes and where everything is as well as the seep lakes.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Those maps are a steal for the price! I personally am very fond of Soda Lake. Basically any place you can drive/walk up to it is a good place to throw in a senko or some crawlers.
Edit: Oh yeah, my profile pic is me with a Soda Lake trout (it bit on a brown senko while shore fishing for smallies). I was fishing on the westside; off the rocks north of the parking lot area where you could launch a boat.

Lind Coulee is a small Chanel on the North East part of Potholes Reservoir. Medicare Beach is pretty much the North shore of Potholes Reservoir. You could spend a week fishing those 2 spots and not run out of fishing ground. There are plenty of posted public fishing signs and quite a few turn offs that go down to the lake.Kfedka wrote:I read about Lind Coulee, where exactly is that located at. The Potholes Canal that flows into Soda kicks out some nice fish every year. Mostly walleye and trout but I have caught some decent smallies out of there. I have only fished it in the summer but its not my favorite, but will pan out if you stick with it. Soda lake has all the fish the reservoir has. Most of what I catch there is smallies and walleye, but it gets planted with trout and I heard there is a nice perch population
