Sky river steel!

Post by Matt » Tue Jun 08, 2010 11:36 am

Allright, so I am posting this over in the reports section too but I had to throw up some pictures from today, what a GREAT DAY on the Skykomish river!

I managed 2 fish out of THE SAME EXACT HOLE both caught on a Gibbs dink float with cheaterweight and sandshrimp. The the nate was caught yesterday evening at around 8pm and the hatchery fish was taken this morning at 5am. The nate came on my third cast after losing one other fish on my second cast (possibly the same one) and the hatchery beaut came on my second cast after missing a bite on my FIRST CAST! I have never had such excellent success bank fishing steelhead in all my days :) The hatchery fish still had see lice on her butt from the morning's journey  :bounce:

Going back to my hole this evening, check the reports section for a more detailed report of location, etc.

that's a nice sized fish man, nice job. You tie yarn to the hook? looks similar to my salmon river rigs.

Yah, I tie yarn to the inside of the egg loop so that I can easily open it to secure my bait. I was actually mostly fishing for springers, but just about anything will eat live sand shrimp :)
