Great news about it only being a head. Also great that it'll work better than before. Spring is coming.

Just break it in first please..........before slamming the throttle down...it is always temping after a rebuild on a car and I am sure no different on a boat.

Good advice Scott. I'll make sure I do. Heck.. I have as much invested in the motor now as I do in the entire boat! #-o

The shop should have told you how to break it in. Call them and ask what they recomend. Then take it out on lake Wa. and have at it. Cruise the whole lake for 3 hours, I did when I bought the new motor in Aug. '02.

Took the boat out for its first run after dropping 5K into the motor..... It sucks.... It only turns 3400 RPMs..... On the way back to the house... I lose the transmission on my truck....

If it weren’t for bad luck...
I feel for ya. These things tend to come in three's. Hopefully the next one won't be so expensive.

Yep did that once too........ Not a good feeling. I did it a week before Vaca, a week on Rufus. Glad the the guy with the the transmission shop was a fellow fisherman! It came off with out a hitch and I know I have a bullet proof tranny now!
