Super Bowl Half Time Show?

Post by Marc Martyn » Mon Feb 07, 2011 9:39 pm

There is a lot of buzz about the half time show. I walked away within the first minute or two. What's your opinion.

I didn't watch it, or the game, but the car web site I'm on all day has a thread and LOTS of people say it was CRAP! I was watching the movie, 'Joe Dirt'. :)

I can't believe those morons are millionaires. A bunch of autotune, bad dancing, worse cameos, and people with boxes on their heads??.... CRAP!

Did anyone notice that Chritina Aguilera missed a line in the Star Spangled Banner?? What a joke!

I used that particular block of time to do something of value - like go to the restroom and take a crap - rather than subject myself to the BEP. I can only imagine it was the 45th best half time show ever.

In the immortal words of Mr. Horse, "No sir, I didn't like it."

I'd rather they just play highlights of the current season, I can't remember the last time it wasn't a suckfest.

I started to watch it but I didnt even know who I was watching. I went to get the BBQ going.Really bad half time show in my opinion. Also the singer of the Star Spangled Banner needs to learn the correct words. Are singers really that ignorant. I wonder if she has a green card?

Waaay back in the early 90's, I actually liked Black Eyed Peas, but then they completely changed their identity and music style in order to sell out. That show was really pathetic. At least they weren't lip synching, but with vocals that horrible, maybe that would've been a good idea. Still, the music sucked...
My buddies and I were waiting for the Fergie wardrobe malfunction that never happened, then again...she's not really all that attractive - especially when she sings.
Will.i.am's blinky digital headpiece was the dorkiest gimmick I've seen in awhile, and I usually think dorky is cool, but that was just silly and desperate seeming.
It had the feel that they were trying to make it as awesome as the recent Olympics opening ceremonies...whooops!
Aguilera (sp?) has never impressed me.

...and then there were the commercials. Not so entertaining either this year.
The game was good though!

Here is a helpful map that ESPN put out displaying the average rating of the halftime show by the fans, this should make things pretty clear!

Another vote for suckfest. I would really like to see them get away from musical acts for awhile. How about an MMA match or a short game between the best high school teams in the country or a daredevil stunt? Anything but another tired, overproduced, low quality mini-concert. Fergie is hot though.

Fergie looked ok. Maybe better with less on and a few beers in me. 111 million viewers the paper said.. Yes on the Traeger. I did rubbed babybacks and some Kunomoto oysters. Then on the charcoal I did a filet mignon. 6 minutes on both sides. When I sank my fork in "it Mooed" just how I like it.

I have to agree with that. Admittedly, I am not a football fan at all. I am though a huge music fan, and even when I see an act that I normally would be interested in, such as The Who, a few years back.... I don't want to see a performance packed into a super tight slot in a half time show. It really cheapens the artist and what they are doing.
Yeah, bring on a quick little game of some star high school kids or something.

No way else to put it. And I actually like there music. But that was crap. Cool effects on the field but it didn't make up for the show as a whole.

Crazy thing is my buddy at work went to the Ozzy show on Saturday night and said Slash and his band were there. And then to see him Sunday on the halftime was crazy. Must have jumped straight on a plane.

I don't listen much to hip hop,so I wouldn't know a good or bad performance. I didn't pay much attention to the half time show as I was debating on the best tactics to secure a Green Bay victory. Yes,...as if I'm actually coaching the game and the players are taking my advice:clown:
I did make a casual comment to my wife during the half, that "It would be cool to see Ozzy show up and bite their heads off",
followed by another response to the effect of "Now that would be a great half time show!"

IMO it all sucked from the start to the end at the end worst plays called cristina how ever it is spelled is an Idiot. Black Eyed Peas first is not hip hop they are a POP band lol and on radio or better in a studio with all the nice gadgets to alter voices a dog can sound as good or Bad in this case. I like most all music but I said when they first came on this is going to suck Arse and it did I left I think in the second song when he went to autotunes for the voice. commercialst he only thing that caught me eye was the Ozzy and Justin Bieber best buy commercial when Ozzy said whats a Bieber thats the only thing. but thats my Opinion fregie is Hot singing or not I would not toss her out!

I don't like that kind of music. (the word music being questionable)
I don't like that kind of act. (Michael Jackson did all that kind of dancing that we need)
Light show was ok. (OK in lower cased letters)
I don't like anyone butchering the National Anthem. At least learn the words and then DON'T STYLIZE IT.
Even the ads fell short of expectations. The cost for a minute of ads in next years Super Bowl should go DOWN significantly.
The only thing good about this year's Super Bowl was the game. AND the right team won.
I used to think that the Monday after Super Bowl should be a national holiday. Too many people hung over after all the celebration. Next year I'll probably hit the sack around 7:00 pm and go to work the next day in good shape. No big reason for celebration.
Where you go is less important than how you get there.
