For launcing in the snow and ice, throw a tube of sand in the back of the truck/car/SUV and a shovel to spread it with. When the temps are below freezing, a few launches and the concrete ramps can get pretty slick.

FYI - We have a species of Hummingbird in our State that does not migrate and can use the energy at this time. If you have a feeder, put one out for a week and see if you get any takers. Here is a recent pic of one of our feeders being used.

Instead, I'll just sit back, enjoy the playoff games, work on some fishing gear and throw a log on the fire every now and then.

I here ya! I have to say when it comes to people getting stuck on ramps I've seen it more often than not at salt water ramps. The worst offender has got to be Sekiu. All lanes jammed up and waiting for the tow truck, like tak'in candy from a baby!

Well we did all of the above today. Left maple valley at 5 something and by tacoma we were plowing snow, took about 3.5 hours to get to the boat launch on the wynoochee. Boat launch was a joke so we sleded the drift boat down to the water. Ran the river and fished our butts off all day. Not a single steelhead was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for us so we went home. It was a beautiful day on the river. Note the pics of the sunken drift boat, they all survived....BRRRR!!! Fun drive home, snow, ice and idiots everywhere.

Cool pics Edge, way to brave the elements! You gotta be doing something really wrong to dump a drift boat on the Nooch, it is a pretty tame drift.

Crazy guys to fish the river in the snow like that. Glad the guys that dumped were ok. Sorry you didn't get any fish.

I'm glad some of us made it out! Yea, what's the deal with the boat? Did they just run into a stump when they weren't looking and get flipped? It sure would suck to get dumped in that cold water in the snow, but man, that's rivers pretty breezy to drift.

The story I got was that they were drinking and had a new guy on the sticks. Its a pretty easy drift but if you dont respect the river you will loose. [-X

Awwwwww.... crud. Just heard reports on the radio, they're expecting sno 6" to a foot on wednesday. That's seriously gonna start cramping my style. What with the balding tires on my cars and the other dummies out there jetting around, we're gonna be in for quite a show.

I'm already anticipating having to burn a vacation day on Wednesday due to not being able to get to work. Redmond to Tukwila with a foot of snow? I don't think so.
