New to me Gloomis IMX and Revo Premier combo

Post by dicinu » Mon Oct 08, 2012 6:53 pm

well I found a IMX for a great Price this weekend paired it up with my Revo Premier man talk about a Light weight set up I am Loving it so far I will see how well it preforms when I have a fish on.

I found a Hot spot for fishing gear Shhhh! after I go back this weekend to get my 2 other rods I will release the name of the shop. Sorry I don't want any competition to get my rods.

Has anyone fished with the Spinning IMX rods?

yeah all in all I have a retail set up of roughly 700-800 bucks for less that 400. way less than 400.00 so I am far from complaining I really love how light it is that's my... I am working on another set up for a great price. I need to find a deal on a reel and I found a rod I want. going with a Lamiglas Si next. but plan on waiting to see if they come out with a heavier model. like a 10-20 or 12-17 at least.

yeah, when i saw the si's come out i thought they were more or a steelhead rod, or salmon, if you got the time and space lol, a meat stick version would be nice, if it could still be light and sensitive

yeah a buddy of mine has one or two of the si's he loves them but his biggest concern is the ability to handle a king... he loves them better than the IMX... he has fished with an IMX he sold it already. he liked it but likes the SI better

I caught many fish on a cheaper rod Now I am going for a lighter weight in a rod...

my arms were getting too strong casting half the day... now it is easy and fun to cast half the day... I love my Shimano rods Clarus and convergence also my sst rods.

Clarus Break easy? that thing is a beast it has been slapped hard on the Puke on my neighbors setting the hook still has not broke caught kings no issue either...

Now sst's as much as I like that line they are fragile rods it is the only rod I have ever broke. the tip is really fragile they break easy. when nicked..

I like my okuma guide select also better than the sst a lot lighter in weight also. and not much more and life time over the counter warranty also.

Shimano is a great rod IMO for the cost and the warranty it can't be beat but that is just my opinion... I have a few rods I will let you try out if you want they are all casting rods..

you fishing the green this weekend?

I will shoot over to the puke this weekend then do you use a bait caster? this is what this rod is. I will bring a few of them for you to try out if you want. kinda try before you buy lol.

I will bring the okuma guide select, clarus and convergence I will be fishing with my IMX

what do you mean there? currently my 300 has 18lb maxima on it, i use 15lb maxima leaders, 12 if the 15 isnt getting hit and i can cast accross the puke at freddies and still have enough line for my spooling paranoia lol, but i see offdahook also uses a lowpro, a citica i think

18 20 same stuff lol

a citca is a lot smaller than a 300 size reel... paranoia is correct I think the 201 holds 90-110 yards of 20 pounds of mono That is plenty of line hell that is a foot ball field.
