RACFISH, Thank for jaring my brain, i knew there was a topic i wanted to get started. who has a treager and do you have any tips for smoking fish, i dont eat alot of fish (catch and release) but when i get that "prize" fish i want to enjoy it the best way possiable "traegerized".

Man, that looks like it is barely used!! Is it new? I see that it is digital.
I have had mine since May 2005.
I just smoked some trout today. I have found that if the weather is cooler out, the fish doesn't cook as fast.
I smoke salmon, trout and some time soon I will smoke some steelhead. I have cooked steak, pork, chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, vegetables, and pizza on it.
I love my grill.
I have had mine since May 2005.

Those things kick out some great eats, no doubt about it. Wish we had one, but we do have a Big Green Egg, it's a darn good BBQ as well....

no its three years old (my wife made me defunk it for a party)bought and upgrade thermoostat kit for it. it was th first year they came out with the stainless lids. the five gallon buckets have spin on lids and i keep my pellets in them. six different flavors at any time. we gave our webber gas grill to my buddy. if i had two of them i could have sold them last night at the party.
im looking more for recipes and cooking tips for fish.

I love my Traeger.Im going on my 3rd year of Traegeration.I have the Big Texas Grill and I love it.I use it almost everynite.I have mine set up for all season smoking and grillin.I have 3 BBQs at home and only the Traeger gets used anymore.My favorite is the Traeger Beer Can Chicken.I season the chicken with herbs and spices insert the open can of Bud,Smoke it for an hour at least then crank it up to 300.Ifin you have never tried one you got to.

yep had the chicken we bought the traeger "throne" (same as the beer can but no can)for are chickens and it awsome.
i wish i had installed an hour meter on mine.
we will smoke a roaster chicken for 4 hours then finish on 350 for 10 to 20 min,s yum O.
did three pork roasts last night smoked for 5 hrs with apple everybody loved it. none left over so they must have lover it.

I couldnt agree more.Even simple things like a frozen pizza or just good burgers.I made hamburgers the other night .They were so juicy and tastey.I smoked them for an hour then finnished at 300 for 10 mins.Along with them I grilled zuchinnis,from my garden and some shrooms.MMMMMMMMMmmmmm.My buddy bought a Texan with me when I bought mine.Now that guy went out of business.He sold us bags of pellets for 11.00 a bag.Im getting ready to order a pallet of bags.That way you can mix and match 100 bags as you want them.Its ends up about 10.00 per bag.
I do alot of goat and lamb.Im trying to find the grapewood pellets.Do we have distributors here on site???

when traeger moved from mt angel to wilsonville they got some wild hair to go with national distribitors which failed so im not sure whats going on now. i have client who got mine at employee pricing, she will have answers but havent talked to here in a while. we have a meat shop down here that sells them for $12 a bag thats where i get mine.
