What about the 2008 list

Post by Toni » Sun Jan 04, 2009 10:32 am

I found the 2008 list. Who remembers what they wrote and how many achieved it?

2008 list for things to do

In 2008 I went on 3 guided trips on the Cowitlz. I caught and ate my first kokanees from Clear Lake. These were firsts for me. I did go back and fish the salt in area 11 2 or 3 times. I fished the Nisqually river for the first time.
I didn't catch as many salmon as I did in 2007. I also couldn't see where I posted anything in the 2008 thread.

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I would have to say they will be.
1.Fish some other lakes that are local.I'm kinda partial to my usaul lake.
2.Slow down on the trout fishing and try Bass fishing.
3.Volunteer again with the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group. It's funto catch the salmon in the pens messure, weigh, take a scale for age determination, punch a hole in the fin for DNA and finally release them to go spawn.
4.Hit some more rivers for salmon and trout.
5.Help with the kids fishing derby at Island Lake.Tons of fun watching and helping the kids catch fish.

There they are completely obtainable.

Toni-
Post the link to the 2008 page. That way we don't have to search.

I missed that post#-o I did want to get more Lake Videos completed, but that didn't happen do to the high gas prices. Fished mostly local lakes.
Hopefully this year I won't have to take out a loan to buy gas to travel to a lake up north.

Made some contributions to Washington Lakes.Com. Here are my totals:

Photos - 235

Overviews - 88

Featured Lakes - 23 (including those with Mike)

Articles - 27

And, I look forward to adding more this year. Hopefully many WL members will send in new photos and overviews this year. And, if any of my overviews are incomplete or out of date, send in a new one. It would be a good idea to date it. I'm sure Mike will replace the old one with the new one to keep the site as up to date as possible.

For the most part, I didn't make any resolutions. I usually fail at most of my promises to myself, so I didn't go there for 2008. I did, however, volunteer to be a moderator on this site. Thankfully, I haven't had too many occasions to interject. I really like this site, and I would hope that if anyone saw or witnessed any objectionable posts that they would PM me about what they saw or read. Let's be the best of friends. OK?

I made one resolution for 2009. Don't buy any new fishing gear. Broke it on the 3rd day of the year.

Well didn't join until August ... so no one has a record of my list for 2008. But I still am not smoking as I am sure that was one of the resolutions. The 26th of January marks my 2 year anniversary!!
'course they don't have biscuits and gravy ... but if they did, I bet everyone would eat there.

Wow Toni - I was really kind of afraid to look at what I wrote for 2008 thinking I probably blew off most (if not all) of my list. But looking back I had 6 things on the list and accomplished 5 of em!

Last year was a BIG learning year for bass fishing - it was a great time, I learned a lot of stuff from a lot of people all on this site. Thank you all for your hints, tips, and advice=d>
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Great job quitting smoking. I watched a show last week outlining the top 5 killers in America. The top two killers in America were; #1 Smoking, #2 Obesity. So to those who choose to quit smoking or lose, congrats. I hope to fish more this year since the gas prices are so much lower. Can't wait to catch and smoke some pinks from the Sound. Crab season can't open soon enough. Sorry to see the tribes out there crabbing the last two weeks. That needs to stop!
