RE:Help Catching Walleye in Eastern Washington
Jordon first a quick lesson on Wally world and what family they come from simple= (perch):chef:
2nd great electronics a Big help as well as is bait and structure.
(Spinner baldes, night crawlers):-# in many depths and colors:compress:
We have banged many Walleyes in the mighty columbia river system even chasing other fish and they can sport size but they lack fight if your a steelhead, salmon guy.
Vertical jiggy as well and trolling speeds slow down
They eat well and are in the perch family.
Light gear then fun sport fish and what areas?= lakes and rivers are you chasing them .
I have a few buds that really target them all over the State but I think East is much stronger for Wally World adventures:-$

RE:Help Catching Walleye in Eastern Washington
I've had my best luck using a 1/4 ounce chartreuse eyeball jig with a trailer hook. String a night crawler from hook to hook and bounce it REAL slow across the bottom of the river about 1 mile downstream of Grand Coulee Dam. When you think you have snagged a rock, set the hook. 9 times out of 10 you will get nothing, but that 1 time out of 10 you'll get a nice walleye. I've caught them up to 26 inches. That system has worked well for me and the best time of year is February.
BTW, once you hook them, don't give them any slack or they're gone.

Where you go is less important than how you get there.

RE:Help Catching Walleye in Eastern Washington
Good morning Jordan,
How did you do on the Ducks this year?
Walleyes can be taken on many types of baits.
Jigs, Crankbaits, Inline spinners,Flatfish, Flies,or just plain ole nightcrawlers.
Jigs are my choice most of the time.
Use as lite of a jig as the conditions will allow, you want to maintane contact with the bottom.
My choice of colors,
chartruce,
yellow,
White,
Yellow&White,
Red&White,
Purple&White, these will get you started.
The last 2 years I have been catching them on the Storm Wild Eye, the smaller Bluegill pattern.
Walleyes like meat so you will want to add a bit of Crawler to any bait you decide to use.
I also use crankbaits at times and my most productive baits have been the #7 Rapala Shad-Rap in the Firetiger pattern.
Some years back the Hot lips was very popular with the tourny guys.
The inline spinner or crawler harness works pretty well but its more hassle than its worth (IMO).
As far as were to look for them, I would try down at the park or just below Rock island dam if you can find access.
That stretch of river there at Wenatachee is about the only water that the WDFW has not mucked up yet.
Lake Roosevelt has a lot of fish but they are on the small side. Try Hawk creek or around 7-bays if you head that way.
Banks,
Billy Clapp,
Moses,
Potholes,
Soda,
Long,
Evergreen Res.
These have all produced eyes for me.
I am going to start looking in Potholes and Soda as soon as the ice is off.
If I find them,I will let you know.
