I personly think Kevin Vandam is the Best . I have never witness any other angler that knows how to adjust fishing patterens and figure out a lake like this guy can . He also is now the all time money leader in tourneys winnings .. my Bud Thinks Rick Clunn is better , he considers Rick as a O.G. in the Bass world ....
What do you guys think ? and why ?

I would also agree with you guys about kevin vandam being the best angler on tour. Because he is the best power fisherman I have ever seen and he can cover so much water in one tournament day. He knows where the fish are and how to develop a pattern for success. Plus anyone who can manage to pull in a lake record in a tournament gets my respect anyday.

Right now, it has to be KVD. All time you have to give it to Clunn, he won four classics with 29 straight visits. KVD will probably break that one of these days.

KVD by a large margin, that is if we are talking about the last 10-12 years. I was at bassmaster seminar two years ago with him and he is also an extremely modest, genuine person as well as an incredible angler. He actually took some time with me and discussed graphics on the depth finder as well as the proper placement of markers when marking ledges.

DANG! The guy should run for President with the way this is going.
KVD, hands down. And Dez, you and jake summed up exactly what I would have said about the guy.
I was watching that tourney when he broke that lake record with the 10lber in that pic. My jaw dropped to the floor when he pulled that fish out of the bag. I think I rewinded it 4 times. Simply Amazing!
The other guys I enjoy watching are Greg Hackney and of coarse Mike Iaconelli. There is definitely some knowledge to be learned from wathing these guys.

MIKE IACONELLI!!! He is the baddest ass in the Elite Tour. His killer instinct is deadly when it comes by finding the bass and his focus are phenomenal! KVD even said that IKE is the best power fishing other than himself. IKE's infamous quote is NEVER GIVE UP!!! (1980s break dance music blasting off)
Fishing is the life.

Looks like Skeet Reese has just taken the lead for the "Angler of the Year" with his amazing win at the Elite Series.
Overtaking KVD in the standing by getting 300 points with this win, Skeet Reese and the man KVD have one last event to decide the best angler on the tour. KVD is only 107 points behind Reese. This will be a great show down. It is awsome to see to see the best of the best going at it all the down to the end. Who will it be? Kevin Van VanDam or Skeet Reese?

VANDAM VERSUS CLUNN Round 1. ----- I believe from sheer knowledge of bass behavior Rick Clunn. He is an advocate for learning the water for yourself. He actually started a movement that prohibits "pros" from hiring a guide to pre-fish. Read a little bit of what he has to say. Also the numbers don't lie, Clunn has won 4 classic titles in 31 classic appearances vs Vandams 2 out of 17. Also Clunn has only been fishing 13 years more than Vandams 20. He has a better track record. I think that Vandam is a great angler however Clunn is on top.

Right now it's got to be KVD. The one I'd like to fish with the most will always be Jimmy Houston. He's just a kick in the head and a fun guy to watch. He MC'd the St. Jude Classic in Memphis and I enjoyed talking with him with or without the mike.
Dealt with Bill Dance at Flowers Lake in MS. Not a guy I care to meet again.

Great point and these are things that my bud points out too me when we debate !! I feel like it's comparing "Magic Johnson" to "Michal Jordan" sometimes .. But as far as pure bass knowledge no doubt Rick is King , be he does't nor does any angler adjust and figure out water as"
FAST" as KVD ...? HMMM ..
